SEBI is proposing to regulate API-based algo trading and has proposed 2 models along with norms. These include requiring brokers to get approval for their platforms, taking responsibility for security, and regulating algo platforms. SEBI has also directed the NSE to create a team of Performance Validation Agencies and will require strategy providers to clear an exam to provide services to clients.
