The practice of ‘flipping’ began in the early 2000s when Indian companies favoured foreign stock exchanges like NASDAQ. Indian startups that initially incorporated abroad are returning to India, driven by liberalized regulatory norms & govt incentives, with many companies like PhonePe, Groww, and Pepperfry completing their moves & others like Pine Labs and Razorpay still undergoing the process.
