Nifty is higher by 69.75 points or 0.29% at 23,797.40. 📈 RBL Bank (⬆️1.46%), Max Healthcare (⬆️1.34%) and NALCO (⬆️1.21%) appeared as the top performers on the Nifty50 at the open.

Ventive Hospitality Ltd is slated to finalise the IPO share allotment status on Thursday, December 26. The ₹1,600-crore initial public offering (IPO) was open for subscription from December 20-24. The mainboard issue was overall subscribed 9.8 times on the last day with applications for 14.14 crore shares against 1.44 crore shares available for bidding.

China refrained from cutting the interest rate and drained the most cash since 2014 with a one-year policy tool, keeping its powder dry ahead of possible escalation in trade tensions with the US next year. The People's Bank of China held the interest rate on the one-year medium-term lending facility steady at 2% - a move predicted by nine of out 10 economists surveyed by Bloomberg.
