Even before market regulator Sebi directed AMCs to find ways to protect the interest of smallcap investors in a frothy market, mutual fund houses have been trying to tame down the euphoria. AMCs like SBI, Tata and Nippon already do not accept lumpsum investments in their smallcap schemes while Kotak will start imposing a cap on the amount you can invest.
