In February, India's weightage in MSCI's Global Standard index was raised to a record high of 18.2%, nearly doubling since November 2020. This is due to standardized foreign ownership limits, a strong domestic market, and underperformance of other emerging markets, especially China. With continued institutional and foreign investor involvement, India could surpass a 20% weight by 2024.
